This week has been busy at the Preserve. I get the feeling that our quiet days are coming to an end. The days will go faster, but I will miss our peaceful days of bird watching.
While sitting near the creek and watching a Black Phoebe, a couple of Western Bluebirds decided to get a drink.
Then another one joined them along with a Red Robin. I did not see him until I viewed this photo on the computer. You can just see his head in the lower left hand corner.
While taking the above photos, I started getting pelted from above. I looked up to see more Robins. I'm not sure if they were trying to send me a message or if all their movement on the branches were knocking stuff onto me.
I guess they decided it was safe enough to get a drink and soon there were 4 to 6 Robins in the creek. Of course, I could not get all of them into one shot, but I tried to get as many as possible. Too bad I could not tell them to get closer together for a group shot...
I wonder if this means Spring will be early this year...
Those are so beautiful. You just don't see those in places like where I live.

Hi Michelle, Where do you live? I thought all places had at least one pretty bird. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteOh they are so so beautiful! It stuns me over and again to see what beauty there is in Nature!
ReplyDeleteHi Riorita, I am always amazed too. So much beauty out there. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThose bluebirds are amazing. I've never seen anything like it in the wild. The only blue birds we get around here are blue jays! Thanks for stopping at tillie tulip. Hope you come back again sometime. Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Thanks Laura, This is my first time seeing these Bluebirds upclose. Usually they are sitting up high in the trees. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWow, the colors on that Western Bluebird are just gorgeous! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly E.! and thanks for stopping by.
DeleteBeautiful pictures! The blue birds are so pretty. We saw 3 robins in our tree today and I was thinking that maybe it means an early Spring?
ReplyDeleteThe bluebirds are so pretty! I had not seen a bluebird until we moved to Pennsylvania. I couldn't believe how blue they are and how pretty too! What fun it must be for you to see more than one and so close too! Your photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi SibStudio, It was quite an experience! I loved the short time I had with the bluebirds at the creek.
DeleteI've never seen bluebirds in person, they sure are beautiful. I've seen Robin many times, but only 2 or 3 at a time... you got a whole bunch there! Really good shots, and you didn't even scare them away.
ReplyDeleteOh I love those bird pictures. My SIL sends me the "Birds and Blooms" magazine and your pictures are every bit as good as the ones I see there.
