It's Raining Cats and Dogs!

Dude! What is that stuff?
I woke up to rain yesterday morning.  A perfect day to spend indoors quilting guilt-free!  I finished quilting one top and I am half way through the second one.

I did a meandering with some leaves scattered across the quilt.

We are starting out today with a "raining cats and dogs" thunderstorm.  Very big booms and our cats - sleeping right through them!  

I thought I would show you my indoor work space.  It's a little cramped, but it is functional with my captain's chair and a sturdy folding table.  During the day, I can open the blind on the other side of me and get the a nice view through our front window. Setting up and breaking down each time is a pain, but what am I going to do?  Yea, climbing over the table is not an option.  To tell you the truth, I wouldn't want it any other way.    

So, my cats did a compromise with helping me on the first night. Hitch and Dusty were suppose to be supervising.  hmmm... I'm not quite sure what they thought they were doing, but they did expect their snacks when I was finished for the night.

Mad Max showed up later.  He slept through most of his shift.

 Hitch abandoned me half way through the evening and Squirrel never showed up until I served snacks.  What a moocher!

    Sitting with their backs to you, they look more like tough guards than assistants. Maybe they are protecting you from the quilt police ... or un-wanted dog hair?

    That looks like the outside of my window yesterday. I like the picture of them with their backs toward you. It's as if they are saying, "When we turn around, you better be finished!" So cute!

    Hi Julie, Could be! They did meet a very friendly dog named Smiley this week. He hasn't been inside, but his owner has been over a couple of times. I can hear the cats now: "Do you smell wet dog?" Yea, but where is he?" ;0)

    Hi Sher, Well, they weren't disappointed with the quilt being finish, but if they were expecting to test it out - they were sadly mistaken. I'll let them test out my granddaughter's quilt when I am done.

    Thanks Julia! It was the perfect or purrfect rainy day project! LOL! It is amazing how focus I can stay on a project when it is raining...and guilt-free.

    I love the cats sitting around while you quilt! So cute. My cats always want lap time while I am crafting. It's only a problem when I'm using resin and glue because their hair sticks to everything! Heehee. Take care.
